Hampton Court Palace tour with a private guide
This is a fun way to spend some time outside of central London. As well as the beautiful gardens and a maze to solve there is the collection of Tudor kitchens to visit, along with the baroque architecture of Christopher Wren and the largest grape vine in the world. The Palace is well suited for a family visit with a great mix of history and fun.
Hampton Court Palace was King Henry VIII’s favourite place for leisure and relaxation. See the Tudor tennis courts where King Henry played which are still in use today. You’ll learn about the eating habits of Henry VIII’s Tudor Court, see valuable tapestries, take in some of the fabulous paintings which decorate the walls.
Learn how royal monarchs William and Mary commissioned changes and used the palace in the seventeenth century. You can experience 300 years of different architecture and see the largest grape vine in the world.
Enjoy the formal gardens and a walk through ‘the wilderness’ at it’s best in the spring with daffodils and snowdrops. In the summer the gardens make a great escape from London’s busy streets with plenty of space to walk, enjoy views of the River Thames and the gardens of the Palace. We’ll also find a restaurant, cafe with an opportunity for children to dress up as courtiers as they tour the Palace.
A Hampton Court Palace tour is best suited as a full day London tour as the Palace is outside of the central London area. It’s an easy journey by train and is a great fun day out for all the family. Email me to find out more and make a booking.
