Full day tours of London

Full day tours of London give us more options and flexibility. It’s possible to combine many of the things on these pages. We can mix and match to suit your itinerary and tastes. And find a nice lunch stop on the way. You could combine a museum visit a walk along the River Thames, or a visit to Westminster Abbey with a boat trip to the Tower of London. Or even go beyond central London to Windsor Castle or Hampton Court Palace. Museum and gallery tours are a great option on a full day to do at a leisurely pace. Here are a few examples of the types of things we could do together.

Westminster Abbey, Westminster Walk & Tower of London

Take a river boat ride on a full day London tour

A visit to Westminster Abbey in the morning and a walk through the Westminster area to hear about Parliament, politics and royalty. Or perhaps a visit to Churchill’s War Rooms to learn about Winston Churchill and to see his London headquarters during World War II.
After lunch take a river boat ride to view London from the Thames on a short journey to the Tower of London. We disembark from the boat in the shadow of Tower Bridge before a visit to the Tower for the afternoon.

Visit Covent Garden on a full day London tour

On a full day London tour it’s easy to combine museums and galleries. For art lovers we have the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery side by side. From there we can walk to lively Covent Garden market for a lunch break followed by a visit to the British Museum in the afternoon. See Egyptian mummies and see classical statues from Ancient Greece and Rome. Or combine any of these with a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the dazzling collections of decorative arts.

A day out to Hampton Court Palace

full day London tours Hampton Court Palace
Enjoy the gardens at Hampton Court Palace

Take a day out of central London to visit Hampton Court Palace. This is a wonderful way to spend time outside of London and particularly good for families. As well as gardens and a maze there’s plenty to see inside the Palace. The enormous Hall and numerous kitchens used to feed the court of King Henry VIII. Learn how many calories were in a sixteenth century lunch, and see the ornate bedchambers of Queen Mary and King William III. A great chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of town for the day.
